Product Review: Detour Runner Bar

The Detour Energy Bar is a fairly new energy bar that comes in three varieties – Biker, Runner, and Core Strength. I’ll be reviewing the Detour Runner bar today.

First of all, the Runner bar is based on whey protein crisps, which are made with whey protein concentrate and rice flour. This base gives it the consistency of a chewy granola bar. It also gives the bar about 200 calories and an impressive 12g of protein.

The most interesting ingredient, though, is MicroLactin. MicroLactin is a form of protein that aids in recovery and strengthening of your joints, which makes it great for runners! (Are there any runners that don’t suffer from sore knees?)

So let’s look at the taste…

The Detour bars have a marvelous taste. It really is close to a candy bar! (For example, the Chocolate Peanut Butter flavor tastes like a Butterfinger.) If nothing else, the taste will keep me coming back to these.

You can get other flavors like chocolate chip cookie, lemon yogurt, raspberry dark chocolate, toffee almond, and more.

If you get a chance, grab a box of these and try them. I love the taste.
